A balloon should support some small lead fishing weights and still rise I would think, if the balloon is large enough.  For that matter, put 5 or 6 balloons together.  Let the balloons go way up in the air once the line is positioned right next to the limb.  That way it has plenty of slack line above the limb so that it can make it back to the ground somewhere.  It doesn't matter where it lands as long as one end is still on the fishing pole and the other end goes over the limb and is back on the ground somewhere where you can reach it.  Then tie a rope on the end of the line where the balloons where and use the fishing pole to reel the rope up over the limb and back down.

If you rig it so that you have too much weight for one balloon to lift, you can pop all of the balloons except one and then it will be pretty easy to find.  Then you can always shoot the last one if you need to.
Be sure to get pics of your truck filled with balloons, on way home from party store.

The problem with the balloons is the weight.  Even the golf ball doesnt always come back down.  I can throw smaller things over, I even got the golf ball over it once and it got hung up.

If you pre-fill them and glue them to the truck, you don't have to worry about bringing the tank..............................................

Oh, I guess you are talking about one of those little air hog toy deals?

When you said remote control helicopter I was thinking of those expensive scale models that run on a little gas engine.

Yeah, I was thinking under 100 bucks.  Prices have seriously dropped in RC due to battery tech advances,

I've got a little RC helicopter, but it won't go 70 ft. If you go that route, just make sure it will go as high as you need it.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking.

I figure there has to be something in between the little airhogs and the big gas things.

Down on Hwy. 61 going from LaPlace to New Orleans. The road is called Airline highway also. It also empties into Lake Ponceatrain when it gets full. It must be some major water if they had to open one up at Baton Rouge. RTR!

Did you look at the Corps map, there is a possible rise in the basin of 30-40 feet.  Hell I-10 will be underwater if that is the case.
