"Hello, all.  Arrived safely at the college home of Ralph Sampson, designed by Thomas Jefferson."

L-O-N-G day again.  How's everyone?

Good.  I am trying to talk myself into starting a bush hogging business.

Really?   Grin When last we talked, you were sore and suffering.  You must have healed.

Thats from the chainsaw and dragging logs.  But yeah, I'm healed

Much need for bush hogging in Pell City?  I thought it was mostly pine trees and hardwoods.

A lot of people out here have their own equipment, but there is plenty of need to bush hog.

But... you don't have a tractor yet, right?

Correct, not one that's running.

At home, there's MUCH more money in hay than bush hogging.  You cut the hay for someone, and you get half for the labor.  Good hay is top dollar now, WAY up in recent years.  Mowing hardly pays.
Round bale equipment is expensive and square bales are brutal.

I am reading that people charge around 10 dollars per hour per foot of cutter plus fuel surcharges.  If I can gross 500 bucks a job 2 or 3 times a week I would be good.  I have some capital and no bills and I really dont want to go back to work.

The 2 or 3 a week is your problem. Realtors may be a target market.

I have a tool box behind my tractor seat. The most important tool in there are the fence pliers. I don't know how many times I've ended up on my back, cutting fencing, wire, cable, or even garden hose from the blades. I would have been dead without them,--many other uses as well.

But buy the US-made ones, plus some nippers (one of MY favorites).

Round Bales don't rot as quick as Square Bales. The Hay being much Fresher after an outside layer is pulled off the cows get better Protein out of it. RTR!

LOL, nope.  I know flowers pretty well.  These in Charlottesville are early varieties of daffodils (February Gold, King Alfred mostly).  I saw some crocus too, mostly purple.  Voles eat crocus bulbs like candy here.
