"Good morning, Smitty"

"good morning"

Why does chechem call you MW?

I think we should call you "chuck".  That's a good name.

"MW" was an early-morning typo a few months back.  It seemed to fit.  I'm sure it stands for something appropriate, just not sure what.

LOTS of wind here today, 20-25k.  Not good for fishing, golf, or boating.  So it must be a binoculars-at-the-beach day.  Grin

Lock the doors.  Pack the cat.  Kiss the Lady.

Go to the tropics.  Rain comes.

We caught 5 more tuna last night.  Come help eat some.
Were any dolphins harmed in the making of this post? Show us where it says "dolphin safe" on your tuna. TIA Kiss

LOL.  No, since you asked, these were False Albacore, the canned tuna that is labelled "Dolphin Safe".  It's a marketing gimmick; the expensive tuna (yellowfin and bluefin) school with dolphins, not these.

I'd like to remove a few Barracuda from the sea.  We keep landing tuna heads without tails.

He made an error on a "PM" and just decided to go with it.lol
You ever use LocTite on anything?

LocTite is good stuff. We see a lot of specifications that require it to be put on screws to keep them from backing out. The stuff works.

Yeah it works. Smitty took off this morning before I finished my thought on LocTite. Getting a nut off (grow up 2!) once it has been LocTited ( new verb- patent pending). A guy in Virginia told me you can use heat (a torch) to loosen and remove if necessary. Huh?

I thought it never got hard and was basically pipe dope.  Just use a solvent.

No way. Pipe dope is grease for making up/breaking out joints of pipe. It comes (on the rigs) in 5 gallon buckets. Thread protection.

LocTite keeps a nut from backing off due to vibration, etc. It increases the amt. of torque to remove a nut exponentially. I have used it in the field, but the nut (or whatever) was, I guess, removed laterin our shop. Anyway, no biggie. I was just sharing a helpful hint, and hoping for reassurance that my tip works. Usually you see it applied only in circumstances that the nut/bolt is supposed to stay torqued up forever, such as a bolt on your chassis.

different pipe dope.  I am talking about the stuff you put on threads to seal them from moisture.

Have you seen the telemarketing for a "stop leak spray" recently? LOL--one application or demonstrated use was a screen door on a bottom of a boat. I don't usually fall for these rip-offs but this product has me curious. Maybe we can talk 2 into buying some (bless his heart).

El Oh El. But if this stuff works the way they claim I can think of a thousand applications. The "catch" may be that you have to use 30 cans to seal a 10' gutter. Even still, it could be a quick fix/bandade to a million household problems. I am guessing but if there are not already,-- similar products (improved) will hit the market.

It's been around a couple of years.  I wonder what the material is?
