I have to call the New Holland parts guy early. Need drawing, schematics for center/belly cut mower deck. Particularly the bearings housing unit. I've been fighting a silly problem for, no kidding, 3 weeks.

I would just repacle the bearing housing unit.
I talked to my New Holland mechanic guy at his house yesterday. He confirmed my thought on that. The bearings themselves would cost maybe $60, while the entire unit would be more like $200. I'll take it apart first and see what I need,-- thats why I want a drawing.

You'll put a lot more than 140 dollars worth of time in it and you can never get those bearings packed like they do in the factory.  Just IMO.

So, back in pell city, I am thinking I will start building a house.  First i will dig out a basement.  Tips?
I had a buddy build new w/basement lately. He formed it with those foam forms-- IDK the proper name.

That's what the girl said.
BTW, the buddy I mentioned owns a cement plant, so I am sure he knows his pour jobs.

Yeah I think that's "how you do it".

It'll be a while before I get it dug out.
Maybe just a personal preference, but I would go with high ceiling in a basement plan.

We'll discuss further as I break ground.  Right now it's in the imagination phase.  What I am thinking is I will terrace the hill, digging in for a basement on the bottom.
Natural light would be a big consideration.

High ceilings and natural light in a basement make a basement seem unbasementy (new word).

Might be able to do some of that, but too much would lose the purpose of the basement, which would be to be a storm safe area.

If you're digging out a hillside you would have the front elevation (wall) exposed. Therefore you put your storm/safe area in the rear.

Yeah that's how I am picturing it.  Or maybe a kick ass secret cave in the back of the basement.

A seperate entrance could prove useful.

You too, I gotta go to work.  Gonna be hot and humid.   Cool

Dont spend too much time on those stupid bearings, just get the whole part.

As my dad would have said, "some things are better done by people who do it all the time"

Leaving in a few and will be on the road again for most of the week. Like last week, I'll be posting little or none until Friday. Have a great week.

Morning campers. Take it easy out there today, general. I'd rather not have to here about you becoming a human marshmellow in this heat. Have a safe trip, 2.

We got a "mess" (very un-Caribbean term) of snapper yesterday, so we'll have them for dinner tonight - yum.  Most are mutton snapper; few yellow-tailed snapper and gray snapper.

Today we're off to a distant snorkeling pacle where I've photographed good stuff in the past.  Hopefully I'll have luck again.  Wish me such.

Later...

I watched the Swordfish show on TV last night. Evidently there is a fish that urinates through its skin. Don't fall for it if the locals try to get you to eat blue shark. Hope this helps.
