My "across the road" neighbor does the fireworks thing each year. Spends a bunch of $ doing it, and people park alongside the road to enjoy it each year.  Sometimes I walk across the street to socialize, but generally (this year) just sat in my own chair and enjoyed them out the window. This guy is getting more and more professional each year, even doing the fake "grand finale"  now, I noticed last night.

The whole circus, from lawyers to onlookers to media, ought to get a little jail time out of this. JMHO

It rained here yesterday afternoon (lots of lightning), so instead of having an outdoor afternoon we had an indoor gathering.  Then we went to Oxford to watch the evening fireworks show; a goodie.

I hear ya. Makes me want to be a switch puller. Florida fireworks, BTW, suck. They don't allow rockets, so most people travel the 40 miles to Florala, Al to get their fireworks. We didn't. I sensed some disappointment in some of the entourage, but the booze made up for it. Only one person over-did it yesterday, so all in all it went well.
