To give you an idea the people I have been working for, upon me giving my notice, I was told to return my work shirts.  These are just cheapo t-shirts with a logo on them.  I laughed, I couldnt help it.

No, an engineer with no experience was operating the drill rig without a driller present.  Furthermore, he had my girl friend helping with the augers.  Thats how people die.  I put a stop to it.  Same engineer decides someone else needs the truck I have been working out of.   That was just the straw that buried the camel.   It's not about the truck.  I couldnt be happier about it.  Seriously.  Terrible project, offensively poorly managed.  No safety.  No schedule.  No plan.  No information.

Again I'm comparing the "core drilling" rig but here it is. When making up or breaking out sections of pipe we placed a 36" pipe wrench on the pipe, with the handle against the rig. This held backup. If you placed the wrench on the wrong side, easy to do, someone may not walk again.

Not that big, but they werent breaking rods, they only got one auger on and started spinning before I found out and stopped it.

The last of the company just left. I am totally out of gas. I may sleep until Monday. Smitty, I'm sorry, I guess, for the abrupt end to your tenure in H'ville, but welcome back to Pell City. Let me catch my breath from all that has transpired this week and we'll get another game plan together.

"Good morning, boys."

Not so crazy.  I'm leaving for Minnesota early, so I posted it before going to bed.

Does it count as "1st"?
Be careful in Minnesota. I hear they have gophers up there! Shocked Mean rascals.  BTW, that girl looks kinda gopherish.

MW, I haven't seen any gophers, but I'll watch for them and send pics.

This area, SW Minnesota, had severe straight-line winds last week.  There are trees down everywhere, from just west of Minneapolis to Marshall (my drive yesterday).  I've never seen such a wide area of straight-line wind damage: evergreen trees uprooted, cottonwoods snapped off.

Tomorrow I'm going fishing, but this morning I'm going berry picking with the girls.  Seems kind of lame, but we'll see.  It's raspberries and strawberries.  I plan to eat my way through the process.

Smitty, sorry about the sudden end to Huntsville work.  But glad we'll have you around more for laughs.  Hope you're okay (e-hug as necessary).
