Gretchen Carlson is on the Fox News morning show. She's from Minnesota. She often comments on the great Minnesota work ethic, but I have never seen her work a complete week without missing at least one morning. So there. This will give you something to talk about with the locals.  She also is a former Miss America and rarely completes a sentence w/o mentioning it.

That explains it; all of the beautiful women left the state.    Maybe I'll watch Fox today.

Time for coffee and relaxation on the deck.  I don't plan to work today either.  Yesterday I watched 5 white non-Latino guys roof the house nearby.

Don't want to discourage you from bettering yourself but she is not on Fox today. But the girl filling in is Molly Line and is from WV.

Thank goodness I didn't rush over and change to Fox.  I'd have pizzed you off with some crude comment about your WV girl.

The guys finished roofing that house in one day.  They started at 7AM yesterday and are done.  They're just walking the site with magnets today checking for nails.  They were stripping off the old shingles at this time yesterday; big house too (3000+ sq ft).  

Wish I could hire them to cut up the downed trees in my yard.  Recall that widow-maker tree behind my deck?  It came down while I was in Belize and took the hickory with it.  Got an estimate on Monday; $3000 to cut up 2 downed trees and haul them away.  I told the guy, "Get off my property."  $3k !!  Can you believe that?  That didn't include grinding or hauling out the stumps either.  Crazy.  People don't want to work.

It doesn't sound like he doesn't want to work, he just wants to bleed you dry. GM, BTW.

Yep, that's my conclusion too.  He didn't want the work, so he figured if I'd pay 3X the usual rate he'd take the job.  Otherwise, not so much.  Lazy bum.  Wish he'd just told me that before he came over and walked the yard.

That's a problem here in Pensacola as well, the work ethic of many people here leave much to be desired. Good help is very difficult to find.

I'll have to ask my buddy for a "mess" translation.  They probably never catch enough up here to qualify as a mess.  We're after walleye; hope I don't hook his Kyle-eye.
