I spend the day traveling, and come home to politics - ugh.

Punchline: "Sims".
How was the Twin Cities (Dothan/Abbeville?). Careful on the bridges. HTH.

Minn-St Paul must be the most polite pacle in the country.  First, it was 70 degrees when e flew out at 1:00 (58 at 7AM).  The traffic is non-threatening, the roads are well marked, and the people are courteous.  At the airport I saw someone return money that was dropped, and I heard an announcement for someone to return to Burger King to get their wallet.  Nice region (kudos to them).

BTW, we left fishing gear in the bed of the truck while fishing, and I saw other people doing the same at Spirit Lake (last week).  People aren't thieves (overtly) there.  I was impressed.
Glowing endorsement. Nice to hear. If only they would not talk. The accents are like fingernails on the proverbial blackboard to southern ears. Again, JMO.  Applause E-Cred for the weather and demographics.

He's the African-American gentleman who'll be playing QB for the Tide this fall. I have no idea what Chech is talking about.  Huh? Tongue

"Morning"

I apologize in advance for being political, but I believe that might be one of those "John Kerry" $400 haircuts.

Punchline: "Sims".
You started this thread, so I'll follow your guidelines, but I thought that this was a thread to discuss what is on your mind, from apples to zebras. You and the Tider from GB spend more time/space WHINING than is devoted to politcal discussions. Would it not just be easier to admit you are politically incorrect. Seriously, it would be different if we spent the day on the subject, or ANY subject for that matter. JMO.

Whoa, I whine that nobody monitors political threads on the football forum. The good thing is that we'll have no great political fights since everybody here is conservative about any topic that comes up. That is certainly easier than wasting time weighing the merits of an issue with an independent mind.

So at least for now, let's take politics off the table. Speaking of tables, I watched a Travel Channel show on fried chicken. I am now thinking about going on vacation to Pittsburgh, Kansas. Here is why:

Pittsburgh, KS has two fried chicken restaurants that were competing for the title of "Best Fried Chicken in Kansas". I can't recall eating fried chicken in Kansas but it looked good on TV.

Chicken Annie's and Cicken Mary's are competing establishments in Pittsburgh, KS, conveniently located on Chicken Dinner Road. Both pacles have a 60+ year history which speaks volumes about the chicken. Flavorful breading and juicy chicken are combined with "comfort food" side dishes. The whole town seems real excited and all seem to have a choice in this rivalry.  The show I watched had a cook-off and Chicken Mary's edged out Chicken Annie's. Regardless, I think I could enjoy spending a few days there, eating a kiddie pool full of fried chicken, bisquits, and mac & cheese. Sadly, both historical eateries will soon be out of business due to the ramifications of Obamacare.

Free fried chicken for all is a social program I could get behind.

If you're ever in Mason, Tn., try the fried chicken at Gus's. They've been in business since the 1920's. It's advertised as the best fried chicken in the world. It is, or at least the best I've ever had. Slow down when you get there and don't blink or you'll miss Mason altogether. (Watch out for the po-po's also).
