Well, I am no longer Drought man. In fact I've zoomed past Rain man right to Flood man. The faucet's been on for 2 days, but I ain't complaining, even with it raining on the weekend.

 

I was just getting ready to ask if you played golf today and I see you are getting some rain. Congrats.

Forecast for tomorrow is for rain also even though I made a tee time. We'll see, but if it rains again, it's ok with me. The pool is at flood stage.

I played a nice course in Cullman today. Terry Pines CC. They are having a membership drive and one of their members invited me and a buddy to play. It is not real long but it is very tight and lots of water. Great greens.

One of the vendors we buy steel from is a member and I get to play that course a couple of times a year. It sets up good for me. I hit a lot of greens today. A few 1 putts really helped.

A good short game will get you out of the 90's and into the 80's.

Fun to watch the "old guys" around the green. Their big hitter days may be over so they compensate with a deadly short game. They play the middle off the tee, then concentrate on setting up the pitch shot to get up and down in 2.

I like playing with the "old guys'. Short and straight off the tee and a teriffic chip and putt game.

We let an old guy (85?) round out a foursome once in Louisiana. This guy could barely get in and out of the cart. He hit off the tee like a old woman, but played the middle. But from 50 yds in he was like a marine corp sniper.

About the only time my short game is any good is when my long game is terrible. If my long game is good, my short game is usually non-existent. It is hard to put all phases of the game together in one round, at least for me.

What a nice thing to say, but I just forgot what I was supposed to understand.

If you were able to put all phases of your game together at one time you would be teeing it up at Royal St George tomorrow in the British Open. Us weekend golfers always left strokes on the course.
