So hot the Toomer's trees lost their leaves...

Thanks (and back at ya), but it really wasn't that funny.  Just came to mind.
As you may recall, last fall the tree expert from Auburn told me they expected the trees to leaf out this spring, then die.  Well?

I wasn't laughing, I was giving you an e-cred because I don't think the trees are dying. You may remember that I stopped in barnville on my way to Myrtle Beach last month and took a picture of the worst looking tree. It did not appear to be so bad. I think the heat may have just as much effect on them as anything. Remember during the winter, all the barners were saying they were goners? IT'S BECAUSE IT WAS WINTER AND THE LEAVES HAD FALLEN OFF, YOU GOOBERS!!!

Several issues:
1. If they don't die, it's only because Harvey chose a poor herbicide!
2. The "tree expert" openly admitted that Auburn is a bit too far north for Live Oaks.  See distribution map: Click here for link
3. Photos I've seen of the trees before Harvey poisoned them looked no worse than the ones I saw posted.
4. Thanks for the reminder to Barners that leaves fall off oaks during the "fall", and thanks for the e-cred.

Yeah, could be. I remember him being gone a long time when the tornadoes hit last year.

Come to think of it, usually he cleans up all the morning spam (mostly from China); I've been doing it for about a week or so, so he must have left about 10 days ago.  I miss him already.

I spent the morning helping build some storage shelving for a community project.  Good Lord, it's hot out there.  Cool shower helped.  Wish I had a swimming pool.

This image shows storm reports from Friday night.  The blue dots on the Storm Prediction Center map indicate wind damage, and black squares indicate winds of at least 74 mph which is hurricane force.

I think I know why we haven't heard from WV.  

I hope it's just power outage.
