RIP Kitty Wells.

If you haven't heard "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Women," go to YouTube for that piece of real country music.

GM CRS

you were better off inside 2 , I promise !
we left Dauphin Island at 5:30 this morning  Banging your head against the wall.
put some more ice on the fish while the fish cleaners get a nap
guy told me it was 101 degrees yesterday afternoon at the bait shop
I kept saying I'm melting , I'm melting , now I know why

fishing was ok , not great but ok , Spanish macs were plentiful
specks in the 5lb class too , calling it a average trip .

Evening gents. Thunder overhead, catfish in the oven, and a cool one in the fridge. Nice night to stay inside.

I'm back.  I'd like to say that all of the trout I caught in the Smokies were as big as this, but NOT.  Mountain trout are picky, live in difficult-to-fish pacles, and it's not exactly trout season.  Still, I managed to catch some (3 yesterday), which was better than anyone else I talked to at the campground.  I was proud of my little fish.  A 12" rainbow trout was HUGE by Smoky Mountain standards.

Did I miss anything?

Yeah, paint drying. Welcome back. It's been painfully slow. Congrats on the modest, yet, hard earned catch.

Well, glad I'm back anyhow.  I see SC is back too.  Maybe we should try another party.

BTW, Smoky Mt Nat'l Park had MAJOR damage from last week's storm too.  I didn't know that until I got there.  Some parts of it are still closed.  I saw several regions of 20-30 acres leveled by winds.  It was odd; gusts must have blasted down the mountains, because the downed trees were mostly all facing downhill.  Lots of trees were in the Little River.  Crews were cleaning up all along Little River Road.  Gatlinburg was okay, untouched.

Those storms were hellacious. Good to hear Gatlinburg is ok. My youngest daughter is getting married there in December. All rooming is booked (and my wallet considerably lighter). The booking of the cabins was an experience in itself. Would hate to have to go through that again if they suffered damages. I love Smoky Mountain National Park, I hate that it took such heavy damage.  Sad
