That does it.  I am getting a gun permit.  If I ever find myself in that situation I am not going to just stand there defenseless and wait for my turn to be shot.  These cowards only do things like this because they know the victims are not in a position to defend themselves.  You never hear of one of these nuts going in to a police station and firing off 50 rounds.  If there was a credible threat that the folks would fight back it might make them think twice before the next nut went on a rampage, and if they did it any way they would not get nearly as far before somebody took them out.

Well, there was this, but as expected, the shooter got the worst end of that deal since everyone at the pd was armed.

... and there was the guy who shot up the military base.

But I know how you feel, SC.  Just feel like you'd be helpless if it ever happened.  I've done lots of target shooting, some with police at their ranges.  Most people who shoot pistols can't hit a barrel from 15'.  It'd be ugly if everybody had guns.

Well, they are not for everybody that is for sure.  But if just one guy was in there who could actually shoot a little bit, perhaps the death toll would be much lower.

How about a nice knife?  I've got a gun/knife show coming up next weekend.  You guys could feel secure with a good Randall bowie, and even a novice can hit a target once within range!

Today, no.  But I think I could eventually.

I used to be a pretty good shot with my BB gun as a kid.  I remember one time I was shooting at a rabbit that was standing in the middle of a dirt road.  Every time I would shoot, the rabbit would jump in the air and the pellet would go right underneath it.  He just stood there and laughed at me.  Well I got the idea to shoot over the rabbit, and sure enough he jumped right up in the air in front of the pellet.  I got the last laugh.

Well got back from VA Hospital in Birmingham. All that is on TV is thing about all those kids getting shot. This is sad and Integrity has to start at home. RTR!

True.  But in this case the kid may have been nuts.  His parents seemed real.

I wonder why it is so sad that kids are taught all this stuff on video games and TV and Sports Stars, and then when they do it, it is so bad of them. I just don't know. Your shown what to do by the stars and then they never get the blame or are made to stop. I JDK. RTR!
