No worries.  I just cleaned up the nonsense posts about the photo-disappearing error.

If you signed up for the Matt Gaffney puzzle, you'll get a new one in your email around noonish.

Trailer will arrive.  Not sure if I have to go get it or not.  The tractor got 'free delivery' but dont know if that includes a second trip to bring the trailer, no matter, I will need to get some chain rachets or something to tie it down anyway.

All the "easy" parts of my property are clear of privet and brush.  Now I am working to remove all the useless internal fences.

Old man neighbor said I dont need a harrow or a rake.  He said that little stuff is best to just rot on the ground and keep getting chopped up by the bush hog.  He said the only thing I might need is a box blade.  He is under the opinion everything just about can be done with the loader, and so far he has been right.

Yesterday I got the huge dead tree I cut down rolled to the fire pile.  It took a while, but not as long as bucking it.  The tree was so big when I tried to lift one end of it the back tires of the tractor came off the ground.

Agreed. I have a 4' length of chain with a loop on one end and a hook on the other. I loop it around a fence post and hook it to 3 point to pull posts up.

Old man neighbor (Mr. Gant) is an excellent resource.  We have a shared gate and he just walks in starts talking and offering tips.  Super nice guy.  He was childhood friends with the first owner of my property, he helped build my barn.

The fence posts arent the problem.  It's all the barbed wire and square fencing completely grown up.

There is a fence along that tree line.

BTW, that nice field to the right is the old man's.

I have probably an acre and half of completely unused property behind that stupid fence.

I simply cut old fence out (into flat sections) with fence pliers. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to roll that old stuff back up.

Problem is all the vines and privet.  I dont want to go ripping the fence, leaves pieces on the ground and it gets into the fire.  I have no intention of rolling it up, it will get balled up and tossed in the scrap iron pile.  Which is getting quite large at this point.  Usually I give the stuff away to be hauled off, but since I have a trailer I am going to take it myself.  they are paying 14 to 17 cents a pound for scrap iron here and they will take anything (per old man).

Sorry. Thought I saw rolled up fence in one of your pics. Clearing fence lines is hard and time consuming for the reasons you mentioned. Birds eat seed, then they perch on your fence and do their business. So all kinds of things grow on the fence line.

Plus it never gets bush hogged.  Even the worst of my fields got bush hogged 5 years ago or so when I had the ford running, but behind these false fences hasnt been touched in probably 20+ years or more.

My buddy bought property a few years ago for a second home. It wasn't far from here. We trailered my equipment to his property to clear the fence line and remove old fence. It took a week and 18 or 20 dump beds full of "smashed down" brush. Even found a car chassis.
