Good morning, campers. Another lovely day on Alabama's Gulf Coast. Cool temperatures made getting out to go to work almost a pleasure this morning. Enjoyed the drubbing Arizona gave Duke last night, glad to see the Gators moving on, and hoping the Wildcats pull the upset tonight.

I got rear-ended a few years ago and had to have my rear bumper redone.  For the first time since then I took a good look at the drop hitch and they replaced it with a class III and I am not happy.

I now have a used class III drop hitch for sale.

I also have tips on installing and removing drop hitches.

Oh, and the bolts are metric.

18mm.  Which is the size where 3/4 fits on it just snug enough for you to think it's the right size and then it slips, and 11/16 which will go on if you hammer it on...

before I started this adventure I called a guy and asked him what it would cost to put one on as I was not in the mood and just wanted it to happen.  He wanted 300 dollars for the drop hitch not including install.  They sell them at tractor supply for like 170 bucks.

I just dropped $300 yesterday for a new hitch (standard one) on my Toyota.  It's a ripoff, but I once did it myself.  I was younger then.  Drilling those holes from beneath a car (without a lift) sucks.

Gotta go to another meeting.  Dull day.  Keep your farm.

That's too bad, I would have given you this class III hitch, nothing is wrong with it, good for 5000lb GVW on the trailer.

Thanks.  Very generous.  I've found that there are specific designs for each make of car.  I don't know how yours fits, but I had to order mine from Jackson, MS.  Nobody within 120 miles stocked the "one I needed".

Maybe next car.  Grin

Okay you young guys.  I've rented a power washer for the weekend to clean the driveway.  I hooked up the trailer this afternoon and brought the washer home.  Lady wants the entranceway and driveway clean.  They look clean to me already.  By this time tomorrow my shoulder and arm will be worn out.

Anybody want a turn at it, come on over.  Grin

Love these ads that make it look like spring flowers and a fine spray.  LOL.
