Well done. They look great, just right for camping and cooking. Have fun and be safe up there and going back home. RTR!

Evening gents. Been out of pocket for a couple of days. Had AC issues at out apartment yesterday, so we had to stay in a motel last night. We are back at home tonight, thank the Lord.

Hey cbbama glad your back. What do you think about Chris Davis is he hot or what. He is mowing down some hits. I see we are dropping back in standings a little but if another one of the O's get hot and the mistakes stop, the O's will be a team to reckon with in the 2nd half of the season. RTR!

Hey ricky, yeah Davis is a beast. This guy is the real deal. He is hitting for average (somewhere around .310) and power, and is driving in a lot of runs. And is actually really good guy. Not arrogant, doesn't take all the credit for himself. The O's hit a rough stretch for a few games there, but they had won four of their last five before the break. The lineup is good, the bullpen is good, just got to get the starters to pitch deeper into games. Yeah, they will be there at the end.

What are you a wimp? One night with no AC and you check into a motel. Most of us in Alabama had no power or hot water for a week a few years ago when the tornado's came through. Even if we did complain you would not know it because no one had internet service either. Now that is roughing it.

Morning all, hope everyone's day is a good one. Mrs J has plans for me today, leave the house. She's having a "hen party" around 10 this morning and I'm not allowed to attend so that means no honey-do jar for me, oh happy day. Dancing

Good morning CRS...looks like the start of another beautiful day in the neighborhood  Grin

My wife tells me I'm picking figs this morning for her to make preserves this afternoon. I'd better go get it done before the sun gets too bright and burns me up.  That's the worst side effect of the Erbitux treatments...having to live like a vampire and restrict all my outdoor activities to before 10 am and after 6 pm...but, only 3 or 4 more weeks of this and I should be free to get back to more normal hours.

Hope it's a great day for all of you...get out there and make somebody smile today  Wink

Sounds like you have a free day on your hands.  Don't waste it working. Do something really productive like fishing or finding a good shade tree on the the river bank somewhere for a nice nap.

Yes sir. Seeing what kind of team we have stepping onto the field is going to be fun. I just wonder who that young guy is going to be that steps up above the others? RTR!

Your figs are ripe already, ours never get ripe until later on. Have you ever heard of the LSU Gold figs(I think that is the name of them)?

I've never heard of the LSU Gold variety...we have Brown Turkey Figs here.  I only have one huge tree and it produces way way way more than we need.  Ours are actually about a week or two later than usual this year.  Most years they start getting ripe about the last week of June and the tree is full of ripe fruit by the 4th of July but this year the first ones started ripening at the end of last week.  My wife made 6 pints of preserves both yesterday and today and we will probably make another dozen pints to share with family and friends in the next couple of days before letting the birds and squirrels have the rest of them.

I don't know what the name of our big fig tree is but it is full of green figs right now. Mrs J has a friend that gave her a panful of the LSU Gold last year and they were much bigger than the figs on our tree. They had a good sweet taste but you have to either eat them right away or make preserves or jam with them because they get very mushy if you try to keep them in the frig for a few days. We have now planted one of the LSU Gold trees.
