FINALLY HOME
I was being debriefed by LF earlier this evening, so I just now got on CRS to catch up.  Thanks for the 'safe travels' messages.
Now I'm watching the Braves lose.  Sad

The fishing was slower yesterday than the first 2 days, so I tried a new stream.  While in the water knee-deep I was being watched by a critter.  I'll give you a hint: the Ole Miss new mascot.

I didn't manage a photo of him.  But he walked along the road a ways, so when I walked back to my car I saw this.  Here's the evidence.

Gotta watch those black bears, Chech. When I first played golf after moving to SC, I was playing a remote hole on a course at the bottom of Paris Mountain and hit my approach shot in a trap just short of the green. As I approached the green, I noticed it was torn up. I was grumbling something about why people that don't know golf etiquette shouldn't be playing golf when I realized that the trap was full of bear tracks. As I was raking the trap, it dawned on me that I was all alone cleaning up BEAR TRACKS!

Wow, that was a close encounter for you with the bear, thank goodness it wasn't aggressive.

Not really a problem.  I've seen them numerous times in the Smokies and Shenandoah NP.  Usually, if you're fishing, they just walk past.  This one watched me, then walked away.  Maybe if I'd caught him a fish, he'd have stayed.

Oops, I hit "modify" instead of "quote" in your post above.  Sorry.

Strange weather for August. We had a high of 68 yesterday. It is 66 and cloudy right now. The high is predicted to be 82 with the sun coming out. High in the mid to upper 80's for the week. That is not what I call the dog days of August.

I'll take it.
Hate those 100-degree days that wilt the flowers and cook the scalp!
I'm planning to enjoy it today: wash the car, mow the (soggy) grass, and take a few walks around the block.

Morning all.  I've been in tropical climates since January, so there's only two kinds of weather. 1) hot and humid 2) rain (followed by more hot and humid).

We are taking a short road trip to Florence and the UNA campus to visit my daughter today. She has moved back already with classes starting Wednesday. We are taking her bike, a small dresser and a few other things in my truck. We will visit for awhile and eat lunch before heading back. It is only a 50 mile trip each way from Decatur.

Hello Phil.
Glad you're back for another championship run.

Personally I think I deserve from recognition for the team's success over the last four seasons.  I boarded a plane bound for China August 22, 2009.  Things have gone pretty well for the team since then.

As an added bonus my Saints also won the Super Bowl the first year I was gone.

Well, we're under our typical daily flood watch. We've had 10 1/2 inches of rain since 5 am yesterday with much more to come. Yippee!  Banging your head against the wall.

J, I'm glad we didn't pick this weekend to do our golf thing down here.
