Chaac is here full force.

No, we're not in Hawaii.

Are you on my island?  That's all I've seen since I got here.

I'm sorry you've been rained out, phil.   Sad
Now, the story here.  A huge thunderstorm developed on top of Oxford and the surrounding region.  We had 2" of rain in the first half hour, lost power, flooded streets, flooded campus at Ole Miss, and such.  BTW, I doubt the football team could practice outside (change your bets?).  LF was out driving in it, and said traffic was AWWWFULLL.  Lots of sad faces; hope nobody was injured.

Let's keep Ricky in our prayers.  Any word on him tonight?   Pray

Let's hope things went well enough for him to check in with us tomorrow.

Haven't been hearing much from Leroy, either.  Undecided

BTW, thanks 2 for sending Chaac to us.  The woods here were very dry, dogwoods have dropped their leaves, and many small trees have died.  This storm was a bit hyperbole for a wish of rain, but it was needed.  It had been a month since we had rain, and it's been hot and dry.  Thank you.

I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I did figure out how to make him leave P'cola. I turned off my sprinkler system.

Morning. Coffee

It's "hump" day and another day closer to game day.
Chech, that was quite a rain event you had yesterday. Mrs. J had talked with a friend in Starkville yesterday and she was saying how dry it was in that area. Maybe you were wishing too hard for it to rain and it all came at once. Smiley

I definitely was wishing hard.  I literally walked outside as the storm approached and yelled at the clouds to "RAIN".  It spit rain at first, then let go.  It was just a thunderstorm that developed right over this region, and it sat on us for 2 hours.  We had over 3" of rain.  The ditches overflowed, streets flooded, and the traffic was blocked.  University Avenue adjacent to campus was closed for a while.  I'm sure the lower part of The Grove was a lake.
Waiting for pics of it.

edit: Official rainfall at Oxford Airport = 0.62"
Shows how localized it was.  "Thanks, Chaac."

It looks like your area may be in store for some more rain in the next few days, let's hope so. Wink

Glad you got rain, Chech. The sprinkler deal works every time.

Today is 9/11. Let's remember those lost.

I hope we hear from Preacher and Leroy today.

Morning all.

Quite weird listening to prayers from the local mosques blasting over the loudspeakers on this day.  I'm used to it most days now, but today is obviously different.  I'm not angry anymore.  Just sad for those still in bondage to sin (sorry for getting all preachy here, but it's what I do).  Praying that God will open doors in the darkest places.
