This is what's left of the King cake. The baby is still in there somewhere. We overslept this morning, so the beignets at the "Coffee Cafe" will have to wait until tomorrow morning. We are going to be locked in this morning for the Mardis Gras parade. I'm all loosened up ready to catch some beads.

We do business with a company in Baton Rouge that sends us a King Cake every year. They are good but the calorie count has to be off the charts.

To heck with breakfast... how about dinner? I love Cajun food. Gumbo may be my favorite food of all.

King cake makes good breakfast; not beignets, but good.

I had GREAT open-pit barbeque ribs for lunch.  It's a new pacle that opened this week in Oxford.  An old man does the cooking.  HE KNOWS BBQ!

This is a Gambino King cake. I got the baby about an hour ago, so apparently, I'll have another year of good luck. Had gumbo last night and will have it again tonight. It's a favorite of mine, as well. Here's a pic of this morning's Mardi Gras parade. We got about 20 lbs worth of beads.

Wow! If I wasn't in the heart of Cajun country and good Cajun food, I could go for some good ribs. Those look delicious, Chech.

Arghhhhhhhhhh, need coffee.  Coffee

Big night (last night) at the Ecru auction.  Lots of fun, AND I won the cash drawing.

Looks just like you.

Congrats, buddy!

Yes, we are leaving in a few for beignetland, even though the weather is horrible. Looks like we will be leaving the cafe in the rain and driving all the way home in the rain.  Angry

Wow! What a day. The beignet pacle was closed for a Mardis Gras parade, so we ended up at a jam packed IHOP. It was storming when we left and stormed like that all the way to Baton Rouge. The rain never stopped. It rained on us all the way home, with thunderstorms about every 25 miles. It is sure good to be home. Thanks for the prayer, Chech.

Glad you got home safely, albeit a hassle.
Hope you learned your lesson; EAT BEIGNETS THE FIRST DAY OF A VACATION.

Crazy weather.  It's 70 here, sunny, and beautiful.  "Thank you, Jesus."

It's quite obvious that I need to take your advise more often.

Ya'll enjoy your Sunday evening.  I'm traveling to my favorite SE Asian tropical island today.

I've got a two week class on cross-cultural communication in the best possible environment.  Plus, I might finally learn how to communicate with Mrs. Bamaphil.
