Wow, 40 degrees yesterday AM; 60 today.  Roller Coaster weather.  BTW, there were 3 people killed in Gloucester, VA this weekend.  I lived there 35 years ago.
I took a year off before college to earn money. Lived in Hampton and worked in Newport News (Tenneco Shipyard- USS Eisenhower--1974-75).

Cool.  Small world.  To visit Hampton (or any other civilization) back then we had to cross the "James P. Coleman" bridge, a huge (toll at times) bridge over the York River.  Today Gloucester is developed, crowded.  Back then it was rural.  The bridge kept folks away.  Hampton was nice back then.  I don't know now.

Then you have probably been to The Peppermint Beach Club in VA Beach?

Not that I remember (which means nothing).  I can't name any of the drinking pacles we frequented back then.
Why, your favorite?

A "landmark" beach club in VB. We'd go there for the afternoon and wouldn't make it home for 3 days. VB version of the Flor-Bama.

I had a SIL back then who worked for the company building the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT).  I'd visit her occasionally, but don't think we ever saw the PBC.  Sounds like you had fun.  Her boyfriend was a waterman, a fisherman on the Chesapeake, so usually we'd stay home and eat fresh fish or crab.  Great food.  Too bad they didn't marry.  Sad

Going to move dirt and wait on the lazy rock people.  WHo just tried to BS me.  I dont like that.

Question:  How crazy would it be for me to do my pool myself?  You just spray in the portland right?  Or I could build a form and make a big square pool, that would be hilarious.

This is as far as I will get today.  You cant get rock on sunday and I am exhausted anyway.

What did you decide on building a retaining wall? JMO, but the "dugout" wall won't last a month. Applause E-Cred for effort.

Thanks, havent decided on the wall.  I kind of want to see what will happen.  Whats your favorite retaining wall construction material?

Mornin' all. I am a little late to the whole wall construction discussion, but since it is necessary to include my expertise on the subject (IN THE BACKGROUND, WIFE IS LAUGHING HER HEAD OFF), I thought I would offer this idea for the general's wall:

The wall is a matter of great discussion around here.  Remember we have two geologists.  Still a wait and see attitude about it.  I also want to take it back futher, so the wall (if built) will be last.
