Cool.  I have woods behind my house.  Lots of hickories and oaks (Scarlet Oaks, Southern Red Oaks, Post Oaks, White Oaks).  We have a trail named "Hickory Hill Trail" that crosses a dry creek and up a hillside of hickories.

I know what you mean. I had a home on top of the last Mountain top (term mountain used loosely) of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Wetumpka, Ala. back in the late 80's and early 90's. We got hit by lightning twice and lost all electronics the first time. My home here in P'cola is on top of the only bluff in the area. So far(knock on wood) no lightning strikes.

That's where I screwed up and got the left two tires off the built up area.  I kept it from rolling by dropping the bucket AND box blade.  So I thought was stuck and was making plans to pull it out without it turning on it's side (yes it sunk that bad).  But, I was able to cut it hard left and get both front tires down in the muck.   Then I dropped the bucket and locked the differential went hard in reverse and she came out.  The weight of the of tractor (bucket empty) sinks 2' easy in that soil down there.

Note this photo is taken well after that incident, lots more dirt added and running down before the photo was snapped.

Did you actually see the tires come up? You are sitting at a high center of gravity so it sometimes feels like it is gonna tip when in actualty you are not. Better to be safe than sorry. I have had ours sideways on hillsides about as steep as that bank by your culvert.

It was more of one side going down.   You're right though, I was probably a lot further from rolling that I thought.  It was scary though, before I stopped and thought about it for a minute every time the tires turned the one side went deeper.

In related news, it's about to rain/storm here.   Should be a good test of several on-going projects around here.

And finally, I am going to repair my pool myself and it will be concrete.
