Good morning!  Coffee

Hopefully everyone slept well.  Prayers to those who are ill or suffering otherwise, especially Ricky and Jamos.  You guys need a good dose of palm trees and sand.

Looks like everyone is beginning to understand that Clemson's defense is pretty good.  They have power and much speed.  They create turnovers by taking chances and pressuring the QB, then cover their mistakes with athleticism.  We'll have a tough time completing long drives against them without accurate passing and good O-line play.  But we should win.

That picture of warmth looks very inviting. It's 35 degrees here. Brrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

I hope Preacher and J are feeling better today, as well. Sounds like some bad crud going around.

I agree that this will be our toughest game of the year, and we will have to play as good as we did against MSU to win. I do think, however, that the Clemson secondary is overrated. Having said that, Our O line is going to have to do a bang up job protecting Coker for him to be successful in the passing game. I also think we'll see King Henry running more this game.

At any rate, bring it on, I'm ready!!!

Good morning.  Coffee

Hopefully Jamos and Ricky will feel better today.  The weather is warming a bit, so that should help.  Try chicken soup!

The Clemson nation and Korea seem to be living in a fantasy world.  One of them will discover reality next Monday.

That beach does indeed look nice.  It's cold out there this morning. Ice cube

I blame bamarae, complaining about those warm December days.   At my age, I never complain about it not being cold enough...  I guess she'll learn.  Poor thing works as a crossing guard at the elementary school, so he's standing out there in that cold; and it is supposed to be cold and rainy later in the week.  I guess there was no school on those December days.

I haven't watched enough Clemson to really know their team.   From what I have seen, I don't think they'll be able to stop the run like MSU, but they should be able to slow it down and make Bama complete some passes.

Against MSU, Bama ran some plays that were out of their habits, especially early in the game.  For example, with certain personnel and alignment early in the game, the offense ordinarily would run right with Henry after a fake toss sweep, but instead Bama ran the toss sweep, or threw a bubble screen.  It looked like the coaching staff did some reverse film study, and were running plays that looked like something Bama did all season but instead turned out to be something different.  The passes to OJ Howard also were out of the ordinary, and Greg McElroy pointed out (Finebaum Film Room) that the MSU safety was cheating to the right side of the field (where the receivers were) and completely ignored OJ Howard on the left.  (We all know Bama hardly threw it to OJ all season.)

I'm wondering what we will see against Clemson.  Will it be more reverse fild study, aimed at Clemson's perceived weaknesses, early in the game, or will Bama go back to doing what Bama does?  I'm thinking we see more of Henry than we did against MSU, and also I expect the coaching staff to keep OJ Howard in the game plan.  He's a matchup nightmare for most teams...  and although Clemson supposedly has taller, better CBs than MSU, I'm not sure if they have the personnel to cover three receivers and OJ, plus stop the run.

One thing we can be assured of is that the Bama D will show up with "great vengeance and furious anger."  That should go a long way to winning the game.  I honestly feel that the only team that can beat Bama is Bama.  I expect Bama to play Anaconda style, slowly squeezing the life out of Clemson, like it did v. LSU and MSU.

Anyway, there's my morning ramble.  Coffee is starting to kick in.  Coffee

Pretty funny stuff.

But when it comes to rooting interests for his family, there will be no "Roll Tide" sentiments.

"Not if they're in my family," Swinney said. "I've got a lot of people that want to be in my family right now, by the way. It's a big family. I've got a bunch of cousins and nephews that I didn't even know I had.

Good morning, guys. 5 days to #16!

Good breakdown, CP. I agree with you. Bama will throw the wrinkles at Clemson, but run Henry more. I'm just ready for the game to start. The suspense is killing me!

Great quote from Clemson's coach, Dabo Swinney, about his native state:

"You leave hospital, they stamp your birth certificate Alabama or Auburn. That's how it is."

When you move to the state, the welcoming committee at the state line also makes you declare.
