Thanks.  I'm eager to get back to the beach and try out my new "CPI Designs Reels-On-Wheels Jr. Fishing Cart".  Academy Sprots!  Woot.

No big plans for LF and 'self for Easter.  She has performances at churches, but no plans around the Chech adobe for cookouts.  But sounds like a great idea!  Supposed to be a beautiful weekend, at least until storms late Sunday.

Wally World didn't have any in stock, either in Pensacola or Daphne.  Academy had them with free shipping.  WW only stocks them as an extra -- bought on occasion.

Morning Everyone.

I woke up this morning to another forecast of possible bad storms today, hopefully it will be just some moderate rain and nothing damaging as floods or bad winds.

I've been under the weather a bit this week after another dose of the sun doctor and it hasn't been pleasant at all. I had a Blue Light  treatment on Monday and my face has been swelled and very painful since. I have had that treatment before but never had the reaction from it that I've had this time. My face has a lot of swelling with blisters along with my eyes burning as though I poured a salt solution in them. It's slowly getting better but I'm not to get any sunlight at all until the swelling goes down. Anyway, I will think twice before I do this procedure again.

I've got to get me some fishing tackle for the "Big Pond" down at 2's for the upcoming trip. I once had some but gave it all away as I wasn't making any trips to the Gulf anymore. I'll have to get some advice on what we will use and make a few purchases.

Jamos, that light treatment sounds horrible.  Prayers for you today.    Heal fast!

The tackle is pretty simple.  You need 2 beach rods, longer the better (8-10'), 2 rod holders (PVC tubes that hold the rods; overpriced at the tackle shops), and a lawn chair.  The rods sell at WalMart for $40 with 15# line already on them.  There's a WalMart near 2's, or you can get them before coming down.  The rods are 2-piece jobs, so they fit into the car well.  The reels are open-faced reels, which have better drag than the closed-faced ones, and cast better than large bait-casting ones.

I'll send a PM about other stuff as the time approaches.

Ya'll ever use bait runner type reels, open face with dual drag to allow the fish to run with the bait with less drag before you pick up your pole?

I bought one a few weeks ago on sale, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.  It seemed to me that it would be best suited for beach fishing.

Good morning! I woke up about 2:30 all sore and achy. I hope I'm not coming down with something. Went back to bed about 4:00 and just now woke back up. I'm a bit discombobulated. 

Reading about fishing again is making me feel better, though. 

CP, you don't really need those when you're surf fishing unless you hook a monster stingray. 

J, I hate to hear about your treatment going bad. I hope you feel better soon and the swelling subsides.
