Yesterday we took the liner all the way out of the frog pond, looks much better.  Going to use the shallow end for a garden.

Considering many options for the future of the hole.  The problem is that I hate this house.  If I had all the money I would bulldoze the house into the pool and start over.  So with that in mind, we dont want to put a lot of money in it.

Considering filling it past the water line with sand and building a deck or something over the deep end and using the area under for storage.  I am all for ideas.

I'll get some photos of it later, now that its cleaned up a little, it's not so embarrassing.

Dress rehearsal for...?  You mean she tried on her new Easter dress? or the Easter choir sang?

Let me clarify "water line".

The problem with the pool and probably why it didnt last, is that the deep end is deeper than the water table.  They obviously did not consult a geologist or dig a test boring.  You'll see later, but there is 2.5 to 3 of water that stays in the bottom if the deep end.  Never increasing, never decreasing.

Also, anyone just jumping in here.  It's not a frog pond, it's an old in-ground liner pool that has never been operable since I owned the pacle.

In contrast, my dad's pool, which was installed in 1984 and his widow wants me to fill it in for her, has had the liner replaced one time.

This pool of mine was installed in the mid 90's, I bought the pacle in 2005, I dont know long it worked, but I am guessing not long.

I understand eliminating an eyesore.  But a swimming pool is VERY nice for those who work outside on hot summer days.  My buddy (deck friend) has one, as I explained.  It's wonderful to cool off after working up a sweat mowing or working.  It refreshed us when we were renovating his house; we'd jump in, and in just minutes we were ready to go at the work again.

You could use a test boring for that.  But for building a pool, you just drill a shallow hole and leave it a few days and see if it gets water, that's how you tell your shallow water table around your pacle.

A perc test you fill the thing up with water and time it as it drops.

I thought WV was making a joke (pool = giant perc-test hole).  I was LOL.
