The red river of the north?  It floods every year, flows north ya know.

Nope, didn't know that.  I've never been there except to pass through, but read a book about early pioneer days of that region.

My friend is in Marshall, which is nearby (but not within Red River flood zone).  I'm going up there for a visit this summer (July).  I'll give you a report.  It's prairie, so if the river rises 1' it floods for miles.

Here it comes again.  Heavy rain outside.
I-10 Louisiana looks wet too. That road sux under the best conditions.

Morning gentlemen. I've been home in Pensacola for over a month and not a drop of rain here since my return. I've got to go back to SC today for a few days, maybe I'll see some rain there. Chech, quite a contrast in girls there.

Yes, I like them both.
I'd be glad to send these storms to you, if I had the power.

I've never liked I-10.  When I was a kid, my cousins and I pulled up all of the survey stakes for it.  They ran right through my Uncle's barn, and (once the highway was built) ruined his 100-acre farm.  Then I used to drive it from Houston to Mobile several times a year - ugh.  Hate it, hate its big trucks, and really hate it wet.

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, I've got a few errands I have to run before we leave.

Yikes, well be careful.  Dont know your urgency to get back, but might be worth waiting.

The stretch from Lafayette to Lake Charles is brutal. Then Lake Charles to Beaumont. The ground is so wet/soft there the interstate has big dips. You can see scrape marks where people with worn out suspensions bottom out at 70 mph (lol).

I went through there a couple of times this past year and it is improved.

I remember going through there in the late 90's and being worried about blowing a tire.
