Really happy you made it home safely Chech.  The CRS Spring fishing trip sounds good.  I hope I can make it again this year... 2, if you are wanting to sleep most of the night maybe you should lay off of the laxative for tonight...   Wink

Man that red stuff just came through here with lightning and some thunder. The got around 33 to 39 miles for a minute then let back down. So it is going into Georgia now but I understand Sunday is suppose to be the bad stuff for us. Praying that are safe and no damage will occur. RTR!

The rain is almost over here. No bad stuff, thank Heavens. Glad y'all made it through it safely, as well. X, it was looking bad your way earlier.

NALT, no laxative for me. Waaaaaay too dangerous!

Good morning, all.  Coffee

THE RAIN IS GONE!  Jumping
The moon is shining brightly, so we should have sunshine today.  Whoopie!

Got a few chores to do today.  And back to the gym for a workout this morning.

Hopefully 2 is getting better; less coughing up oysters!  And prayers for healing to Ricky.  The rest of you are on your own!

More pics from the beach:

Portuguese Man-o-War
Very toxic, and will leave scars if it stings you.

Purple Snail (pelagic snail)
Common purple snail is a kind of sea snail holoplanktonic, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Janthinidae, the purple or violet snails snails. This family of shells, the Janthinidae, is pelagic, which means they live their entire lives floating in a deep ocean waters far from land. Common purple snail build himself a raft of bubbles by capturing the air of the surface of the water with their feet. THEY EAT PORTUGUESE MAN-O-WAR; THEIR FAVORITE FOODS.

Black Drum
Close cousin of Red Drum and Speckled Trout.

Pompano
The favorite fish to catch from the beach.  2 loves to eat these.

Nice pics, Chech. I was hoping the jelly fish would stay away for a while. We've had our share of them ever since Hurricane Ivan hit in 2004. You hardly ever saw Portuguese Man-O-war around here until then.

We are supposed to have rain all weekend, possibly some of it severe. We are already pretty waterlogged. Hoping it won't be that bad.

The PMOWs probably came from a gyre that broke away from the Loop Current.  These loops break away periodically and move NW until they hit the coast.  Common to have tropical species in them, like PMOW.  Of course, hurricanes also drive them ashore (as you said).

We're staying dry today and tomorrow, but the rain returns Sunday.  Reminds me, I need to contact Jamos about his visit.  He's supposed to be here on Sunday!

Cool pics Chech, especially about the snail.  Whodathunkit?  Anyways, I experienced the sting of the PMOW when I was a small child, maybe 4 or 5.  We were on a family trip down in the middle part of Florida and went to the beach where one of my brothers and I got stung.  Cried for hours...  Glad you made it home safely.  2, glad you are feeling better too.  I hope everyone else is doing alright.

Man that stuff seems to really hang on. Today as for me and NALT looks like we got some warmth for a change but it sure feels strange at this time of the year. Have a Blessed day everybody. RTR!

GOOD morning, all.  Coffee

Off to work on a house this morning.  Final touches.  I dislike painting, so maybe I can work on baseboards and lighting.

Beautiful day yesterday: 72 degrees!  Our winter honeysuckle is blooming (smells great) along the driveway, and the birds are singing.  Is it really January?

Good news from Italy -- rescuers found 6-7 people alive and well amid the ruins following an avalanche.  Still digging, so there's still hope.
