Well done Chech!!! E-cred!

It was the perfect day; full moon coming, very warm (70s) 2 days in a row, and cold front arriving later in the day.  Fished a series of small lakes in the national forest near Oxford.  Came home muddy, but had a blast.  Caught probably 40-50 bass; biggest pictured here, up to 5 lbs.

It's cold again (32 degrees!).  And the football doldrums continue.

BTW, anybody who thinks Chip Kelly is a good fit at Alabama is delusional.  Chad Morris is more likely, and that's a stretchhhhh.

NOPE.  
We have an agreement; they bite, and I release them.

Now, had we been catching red snapper or queen snapper, it's definitely...
"FILET AND RELEASE".

From my experience, bass are either really good or really bad depending on how they are prepared.  Simply fileting them then breading and frying them they are  horrible.  However, if they are fileted, then diced up into small bite-sized pieces, battered and fried they are...



Not sure why there is a difference...

Nice job Chechem and fun too I know. I can see by the big smile you was catching up on some much deserved fun. Maybe you ought to be a teacher of fishermen now, lol. Yes sir NALT I was cold this morning but my wife turned up the heat stove this morning. I see in the morning it is going to be much more like winter weather. Wow, we had like 8 people in church last night everybody has the flu. We only had like 4 children there are some schools here that are closing for the next week because of the flu. Hope you all are having it a lot easier. RTR!

Not sure the bass are biting much yet up here.

If you want a real fight, I hear the crappie are biting.   

From my fishing days in the past, bass start hitting very well around February 1st.

Perhaps you are right.  I was too much of a weather wimp to fish in the cold.  I knew crappie were biting because a friend showed me a full cooler a few days ago.
