Yeah. I learned how to sail a Catamaran out of the Lagoon to the Gulf. Had to tump boat over (mast would not clear under the bridge on w. beach) when the tide flowing out. Then reverse to get it back in. Hobie's were too heavy to "right" by yourself, but my Prindles would work.

my FIL have a house just down from Moe's for over 20 years and we lived over there every summer
saw a lot of kats in the goon ... man I miss that place , da#@ you Ivan !
we could fish , pull tubes , jet ski and hit the gulf in no time ... it was awesome .
my BIL has a condo across from Hooters we stay at but it's not the same , the goon was great !

I used to teach windsurfing. I'd take them down to the Lagoon (Compass Point). Perfect. If they fell off, water only 2-3 feet deep -step right back on. Plus you couldn't lose the ones that could get going, but were afraid to turn around.

I learned to water ski in the lagoon, back in the middle 1960s.  True.  Never again, though.

Think it was at the Zellner's pacle on the lagoon.

My "just divorced" love nest was on 8th Avenue with boat launch and Lagoon access.  Had a rubber boat (Zodiac) with outboard to cruise over to the Sunset Grille (something village) at night.

Crazy kids.  I'm going to bed.  Maybe my garage door will get fixed soon.  If not I'll be tempted to try to spring-bash my head like an idiot.

unfortunately yes ... thinking back ...  how dumb was that to do  ?

Big Dog use to pull a big ole tube everyday around to about where the Pink Pony is .
it was like a big water trampoline and he charged people to jump on it ...

I can remember girls being around his place all the time the gray hair not so much .
