Thanks for the kind words, I just spoke to the boy and he is back in Ttown. They are stationed at the fire college for now.
I think I saw him start showing some signs of maturing last month when he told my mother Nana, I wish I would have listened to daddy when he said
Even though hell would freeze over before he ever told me that.
Thanks again.
it comes in small portions or at least it did for me
first thing was he called and told me he was going to get his own insurance on his truck
he had been on a security detail with President Bush on 911 up at the SAC until it calmed down
I knew he was flexing his oats a little bit after being with Bush in the Bunker up there .
I told my wife he would call back the next day and ask to stay on my policy awhile longer
he is 21 years old and that insurance is going to be high as a cats back , he will call .
he did , the very next day ... of course I told him that he could ride my coat tails a little longer .
then he started to call and ask "Dad how did you do this ? how do you do that ?"
I knew he was coming around a little more because he ask for and WANTED my advice !
then my Fathers Day-birthday cards got little sappy , real nice and all but instead of a
monkey farting and saying something silly they actually were very touching and had meaning ...
and the cards came with some very nice gifts , a computer , a digi cam , a custom made
European shotgun , stuff like that ...
then the day he said "I don't know how you have did all these years Dad" I knew it was a done deal .
yours sounds like he is on his way , just testing it out on Nana first ... LOL
we are lucky to have such good sons don't you think ?
let him know we are all real proud of him back here at home too ...
