Smitty may remember my one and only post during the gulf spill--"Oops, our bad"

I remember that post, didnt know it was the only one.  Good stuff.

I am hearing nothing but amazing stories of the recovery down there.  Oil is 100% organic and biodegradable.

So is sewage.

gets pumped into rivers and oceans all the time.
I know.  Raw sewage, every time it rains.

WV, in response to your earlier post, I carry a S&W 9MM and a single shot, air pump, pellet pistol (for pesky critters that come in my back yard).

Near Fairhope a few years ago there was a sewage pipeline break.  The state people went out into Mobile Bay taking samples to see how far the plume extended.

They couldn't find the end of it.  The entire Bay was full of sewage discharge (and I'm not talking simple fecal-coliform tests).  It's a problem, a population problem.  Drink bottled water.

The one on the island where I stay was designed by a geologist and engineer at Ole Miss.  Cool design.

But, to be fair, it benefits from the small population there.

Inland the WWT plants come from World Bank money. Shocked  Thank you in advance.

Do you think it's a bigger problem than the oil industry's occasional boo boo?

YES.

"Sewage" carries everything from cleansors to motor oil.  Impossible to clean, and WWTP are a vector for nasties to get into rivers.  Alternative?  Don't flush?

I'm always hearing that bottled water has more bacteria than tap.
