How do you explain footers to someone who had no clue they existed or their purpose?

Mom cant picture it.  She insists that she has determined how much concrete she needs for a slab. Help.
Ask if she wants her slab to be spread like pancake batter or contained in uniform dimensions like a waffle. BTW, I like pancakes and waffles.

I cannot remember the last vacation. It has been years and years. Up until a year ago (this month will be 1 year since I've been on a drill floor) I spent 300-335 days a year away from home. So my time here in the mountains has always been precious. But the woman needed to get away, occassionally, and travel is wonderful and necessary for developing well rounded kids.

I like to venture out of the tourist areas. See what the local boys are into. Hit a local bar, or book a fish trip. Drive out to see an antebellum, while bouncing from one BBQ spot to the next. Maybe take in a minor league baseball game.

So we compromise and they go without me. Cool

YP, I spent a lot of time in & around Lafayette, La. You don't have to go far to find farmed crawfish. Of course the trick is trying to get them without the owner shooting at you.

There was more Crawfish and Gator cooked in the past three days in Breaux Bridge than I have ever seen.   They were cooked in ways that you would not think they should be.  But every dish I tried was great!

I've never had bad crawfish. In 2001, I went to the Tour Championship in Houston. I ate supper at Pappadeaux's restaurant. The had a platter consisting of fried and boiled crawfish. Biggest plate of food I ever saw. I ate every bit and without getting into details, a maintenance man had to come to my hotel room to unclog my toilet. Embarrassed
