If you watched the Belize video Chech graciously shared today, help me with this. The flyrod guys in Belize were using a longer flyrod than I do. But the rod action was extreme (4 o'clock-8 o'clock rather than 10-2). Also I kept hollering at the screen for them to get their rod tip up when they reeled in a fish (permit).

I haven't seen the whole video yet , haven't had time but I will .

I don't have much use for fly rods , not that I think there is anything wrong with them
I use a 7' custom made rod by a builder at Powell Rods in California with a baitcaster on it .
with Stren Super Braid 50lb. test floating line .
it's a little like a fly set up in a way but way more productive in a tournament setting so
I fish with it all the time to stay in tune .

I am with you on the "tip up" thing ... can't count the times I have said that to someone
"DON'T POINT THE ROD AT THE FISH !" I believe is how I put it LOL

those folks in Belize seem to know ... from what I have seen ...
I'm sure they have a system figured out that works for them no matter how strange it
may seem to us ...

I'll watch the rest and see what you are talking about ...

yep.  I can take solace in the reimbursement rate.

My hope is that I fill out some paperwork and then get busy.   At my rate I am thinking they will want me out there and billable ASAP.

We are generally wired into Pason-- oil rig instrumentation company for reading drill floor instrumentation in real time in, say Houston or WV, which includes high speed innerwebz. We have our own portable dishes for transmitting or receiving if Pason not available (hassle to set up).

Soon I guess.  Going to stop by the hotel and drop off my stuff, maybe chill a minute, then the office I have to go to is over in decatur about 30 minutes away.  Plenty of time.
