Good morning. 

We had a birthday party, of sorts, yesterday for a friend of ours.  Only her and 2 other friends, so the 5 of us sat on the "patio" (driveway) in lawn chairs and enjoyed the beautiful day.  Fun visit.

Lots of birds again yesterday.  The mulberry tree is loaded with fruit, which is now getting ripe.  Every bird in the neighborhood visits now.


PURPLE FINCH

Good morning folks.  Yesterday turned out to be really nice.  After I finished my "work" for the day I took the boys up to Hollywood, AL and out to the river behind Belefont Nuclear plant to do some fishing.  The boys didn't catch anything but I did manage to catch two Flathead catfish.  The largest of those weighed 7-1/2 pounds.  Fun times.  This afternoon I'll either be mowing or helping my friend saw up the four white oak logs we picked up last weekend.

That purple finch is a pretty little bird.  Do the birds ever leave you any of those mulberries to eat for yourself?

Will work a half day today, then head to the mall for my walk. It is reopening today for the first time in 6 weeks/ Ought to be interesting.

@ NALT: I have 2 big mulberry trees in my yard; both loaded with fruit.  How much can you eat?  When you come mow, take all you want.

I just went back through my text messages from Mrs. Nalt.  She has to take her mother this morning to a consultation about having a lumpectomy, then to get some labwork for outpatient surgery on Monday to put in a port so she can start chemo therapy and then after lunch she has to get her results on an MRI that was done earlier this week on her hip to try and determine why she is in so much pain from falling off of her front porch about 3 weeks ago.  So, I think I will just work half a day today then the boys and I will try to get some of my weekend mowing done.

Chech, do the Mulberries taste very good?  I've never eaten any that I know of...

I have some wild blackberries growing in the perimeter of our yard.  Mrs. Nalt likes to pick some for a blackberry cobler ever so often.  While I do like blackberry cobler, I much prefer it be made with domestic blackberries than wild one's.  The wild blackberries have way to many seeds for my liking.

Got an early tee time this morning. I ate ice cream last night and, as it sometimes does, it disagreed with me. Didn’t get much sleep, so it should be interesting.
