It is so hot here that even the tree frogs are looking for shade to call up some rain. RTR!

It is so hot and dry in Decatur that the Baptist are sprinkling and the Methodists are spitting.

Looking at the radar, there's rain all around me. It's like a hole is cut out right where I live with no rain.

Wow. I've made the rainmaker mad. A great looking storm was brewing near Milton and heading this way. The closer it got, the weaker it became until it all but fizzled out. Just a few sprinkles. Not even enough to get the ground wet. 1/4 mile west of me, it's pouring.

It has not even hinted of rain here in at least two weeks. I guess we will try the rain dance again.

Yeah, Preacher, I was looking at the radar up your way and there is nothing in sight. What we're getting right now on the Gulf Coast is a sea breeze type of front. Very subtle, because it's still hot as blazes, but helps create pop-up afternoon T-storms. I hope the trend continues. Hope you guys get some soon, too.

2, did Pensacola get hit hard with the oil spill last summer? Is the "beach business" back and busy this year?

It devastated this area last year. If it wasn't for BP stepping up to the plate paying claims, it would be years before they recovered down here. This year is much, much better so far. The 2 biggest weekends that brings in all the tourists are the 4th of July and Blue Angel air show weekends. Last year was a disaster. They are expecting great things this year. Oddly enough, we still get the occasional tar balls washing ashore.
