2, did Pensacola get hit hard with the oil spill last summer? Is the "beach business" back and busy this year?

It devastated this area last year. If it wasn't for BP stepping up to the plate paying claims, it would be years before they recovered down here. This year is much, much better so far. The 2 biggest weekends that brings in all the tourists are the 4th of July and Blue Angel air show weekends. Last year was a disaster. They are expecting great things this year. Oddly enough, we still get the occasional tar balls washing ashore.

We have gone to Fort Walton/Destin the last two years because of the kids. I like Gulf Shores/Orange beach. Last year Destin was dead but kind of nice with no waiting and good prices. You could tell the businesses were losing their shorts.

As crazy as some of my family members are, none of them are from west Virginia. He might liven the place up if he didn't duck out.

My family on my fathers side has a family reunion every year. They are normally at one of my uncles place on Logan Martin Lake in Pell City. This year we had it in Moss Point, MS at one of aunts house. My grandparents had 11 kids so there is a bunch of us. Most of us went to the casinos in Biloxi. I am sure we helped the economy that weekend. I personally caused a big spike in the profit chart for the Hard Rock Casino. I found out I'm not very good at video poker.

Video poker has worse odds than regular slots. If you can find a Baccarat table, (after you've learned how to play it), it has the best casino odds of any game. I prefer the real poker tables....Texas Hold 'em and 7 stud.

We are ok.  I set up a tent and run a fan, we have cold drinks and chairs.  It's hot as hell, but it's not like we're out in it all day.

We have ice cream too.

I would be wearing the ice cream. The weather gods were playing with me today. We are in a seabreeze front situation and t-storms were popping up everywhere....except here. The whole area got decent rain.....except here. Only a few sprinkles here.
