We still have not got any rain here. We did get a break on the heat yesterday and today. We are in the low 90's. There is a big difference in 93 and 97. The news gets even better. There is a chance of rain tomorrow.  Pray

Red Sox beat the Yanks again last night to take 1st place in the east. I've been a Red Sox fan since I was a kid.

I've driven by Fenway Park a couple of times, but never got the chance to watch a game.

I have been to Fenway twice. There is a lot of history in that old ballpark. I went to Atlanta a few years ago to see them play.

Same here.  I've been up there a dozen or so times and have never had time to catch a game.

I regret never having seen a game at the old Yankee Stadium. When I was a kid in Ft. Lauderdale, I was in the hospital with Roger Maris' son. Obviously, I became a huge Yankees fan and stayed that way until we moved to Montgomery and I became more of a Braves fan. I quit pulling for the Yankees completely after the '96 World Series. They broke my heart.

I used to travel for business more than I do these days. If I was close I always tried to see a game. I have been to some good ball parks. I have been to a day game at Wriggle. I have been to the old Memorial park in Baltimore (saw Roger Clements pitching for the Red Sox - He was my hero at that time) and the new Camden Yards. Other parks are Caddlestick (Gaints), Rangers old statium, St. Louis, Tampa (what a dump that is), San Diego, Kansas City (lived 6 years in Nebraska and would go down for Red Sox games).

One of my favorite was Rickwood Field in B'ham. My dad was a huge baseball fan. He always took me out to Rickwood when I was a kid. They were the B'ham A's at that time. I later got to play a few high games in Rickwood. That was always a real treat for us HS guys. I also got to play a few HS football games at Legion Field.

Do any of you remeber the Old Atlanta Crackers? They were a good team most times. RTR!

Yes I do. A little before my time but I remember hearing about them when I was a kid.

Ricky, check out the Wikpedia link below. It tells the history of the Crackers.

I've never been to Rickwood, but used to work for the Montgomery Rebels at Patterson Field when I was 14 and 15. I started out as an usher and then was the scoreboard keeper. (Manually put in the numbers like at Wrigley). Saw some great players on their way up. The 2 catchers for Montgomery my first year were Jim Leyland and Gene Lamont. They were a AA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers at the time. I can still remember those steamed hot dogs. Best I ever had.

The new park in Montgomery is nice. My wife is from Montgomery and we vist her Mom often. Rather than sit around the house I play golf and go see the Biscuits play.
