Bush 43 inherited a recession from WJC. He turned it into the most consecutive quarters of economic growth, maybe ever. Unemployment was almost nonexistent until the dems took congress in 2006. The Dow topped 14,000. All this while dealing with the affects of 9/11, Katrina, California wildfires, and war on two fronts. Truly a great American leader.

I've always liked the guy.

I always liked him too. WV you should read his book. I would recommend it to you to Smitty but you already said you don't like to read.

That explains alot.:eye roll:

I bought his book for my Dad. Usually if I wait 6 mos. or so, he'll finish the books I buy him and give them to me. That is how I got Courage and Consequence that I just finished.

My Mother-in-law gave it to me for Christmas. I liked it very much.

I EMed this link to friends of coal (50%) of U.S. energy production prior to the 2008 presidential election.  Add this attitude toward coal with this administrations position against oil/ gas and you have someone to blame for increases in fuel costs/electricity rates.

I remember reading about how that would happen way back when BHO was running.

The government had a big surplus of cash under WJC.

Is this thread turning political?

I've noticed that we pretty much break every rule for polite conversation on here anyway: discussion of religion, politics, and money. We also talk about the weather, which is allowed, so it seems as if we are schizophrenic. We also seem to have multiple personalities since I often refer to us as we. OK, I'm trapped in a loop here....
