The act of cutting causes stress to some degree. Doing while full sun causes additional stress. How much, and whether or not it is worth factoring in, is what I am questioning. BTW, weed eating while the grass is damp from either dew or rain makes cutting easier. Clogging is the problem for both weed eating and mowing, when the grass is wet. But I sometimes plan for mowing on cloudy days, or try to finish just before a rain storm or, ideally, a day or two of rain and clouds. Trying to avoid the "brown/dead" look we get in August due to lack of rain or excessive heat (or both). These problems are not a big issue here.

My wife doesn't seem to mind either way.
I got two of those push mowers out of our shed a few days ago. Cleaned them up. Sand papered axles,conditioned/waxed, tire blacked, sharpened, etc. One of the two is likely to be the one I used when cutting my Grandad's grass when I was 8 years old (or so). Plan to install hangers on the garage wall to display them. I also have a large box full of Grandads carpentry tools. Hand planers, hand drill, etc. that I take good care of. All these tools are mostly wooden including the lawnmowers. Any ideas for display/use, other than selling them?

Antique Roadshow.

Got another call today.

By the way, that other dude paid up.

That's what I meant; the effect of stress is negligible except during drought conditions (IMHO).

Gun Show.  You can sell anything (mostly) at a gun show.

Cool.  Pics?

I meant "other than sell". Youngsters would maybe be interested in seeing a hand drill (and other tools). They think antique means life before cordless. I thought about a wall in my office for display, but that may be overkill. The garage walls are being used down to the square inch with tools hanging, firewood stacked, shelves, etc. It seems a waste to keep it to myself. Pics may be the answer. I'm glad we had this little talk. It helped. RTR

You could start an antique tool museum or do a traveling antique tool show. Hey, that would make a great reality show. Take those tools from town to town and have the elderly guess what they would be worth on "Antique Roadshow".

How about the "WV Museum of Torture"?

My grandfather made us use one of those to mow his grass when we visited.  That's why I stayed at my cousin's house instead.  My brother got the lawn duty.  Grin

Babe pic coming up.  Ready for bed??

"Good night, boys."

I like it.  Kind of a cowboy motif.
