As I read this thread and see all the amazing feats of skill that the gentleman on here have (and I do not), I now know where I am going whenever I come to the point that I can afford to build a home. Y'all haz the skillz.

The right tools + the interwebz + time = you can do anything.

Just be sure and check the weight limit on the ladder.

That's cold. But you'd better check.

What kind of ceiling is that?
Years ago when I built my home, I put up 6 mil plastic. Around the inside walls and ceilings. It makes for a more airtight structure. Less energy costs.

 Cool.

Beadboard.  You can buy this particular type at Home Depot.  You get 20% off if you buy a lot of it.  Grin

Here is a link: Click here for link
Maybe it is just the picture or perhaps I missed a step in your process but this ceiling looks painted. No knotty pine look. I''ve see it both stained and painted but never pre-painted? What am I missing, Cat?

Sorry, MW.  Missed this yesterday.  Good eye.
You are right.  We painted it with primer (Kilz) and a coat of paint.  That saves a lot of work later (painting beadboard ceilings is a pain).  The final coat comes later.

LOL.  Seems that women like to pose with their heads cocked sideways.  Hope this helps: don't look at their faces.

Hmmm, looks like a monkey cage.  I'd guess it's called 'antique-primate enclosure'.

So my next question is which side of the antique monkey enclosure is she. On the visitors side or the home team (antique monkey" side?

She looks to be a visitor.
