I never appreciated the band until my two girls did the dance team. I am in my 8th and final year. They work hard. The dance team had a full week of camp two weeks ago learning their routine. They practiced from 8-5 with parents bringing in lunch. Last week the entire band had camp. They practiced 8-11, 1-3 and 5-dark Monday - Friday. It was hot those two weeks. It is a 175 member band. They win awards in every band competition they enter. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching those boy's play and the band perform every Friday night during the season.
Another reason to hate the networks treatment of college football broadcasts. Back in the day, we used to at least see a good portion of the HOME team's band doing their routine. Not any more. Maybe a glimpse. Instead we get a 15 minute story about "bullying" or "crack addiction recovery". No bands-- no stats. Angry

"Good morning"

I have found that the most entertaining marching bands are the ones that have my kids in them.  Wink
LOL--Marching bands--By the time you point your kid out (the second from the tallest just this side of the 30 yd. line) to everyone in your section, they move and you have to start all over again?

By the 8th game I watched the routine so many times I believe I could do it for them.

Kind of a show off?

It was by request from the... coach?  Not sure what you are supposed to call the lady.  She is only 7 and has been taking gymnastics for years.  Evidently she is the only one in the group of 7 year olds that can do that.  So yes, she is showing off all that money I spent on gymnastics.

Yes, I can't wait to see what the football team looks like.  It should be a blast.  We start them young around here.  My boy is only 4, and he already knows the proper way to hold his arms to take a hand off.

My two girls cheered from about age 7 through middle school. You will get a kick out of watching the little boys play. Hint: expect low scoring games.

I saw an article in the local paper the other day were some guys stole the copper wire out of the phone lines while they were still on the pole.  Somehow they pulled the copper out for several miles and left the outer sheath on the pole, all in one night.  The line still looked like it was there, but then when the phone company came out to try and figure out why the phones wouldn't work, they saw that the copper was gone from the wire.  I have no idea how they pulled that off.

However these guys were much older than 12.

I recently found out they strip the rubber insulation off the wire simply by burning it. But your way eliminates that nasty step in the production to point-of-sale chain.

Tell "Flipper" BAMAWV says "RTR" or whatever the 7 yr. old version of that may be!
