Hank, I see where ya'll play Pell City this week. Are you going to the game? We play Huffman tonight. I driving to B'ham for the game. Tough road trip on a Thursday night.

Yeap. I am going. It's at home. We need some offense. The defense played well but stayed on the field the whole time and were worn out early in 2nd half. Offense turned ball over twice inside 20. I miss instant reply at those high school games. I naturally look for the reply on a jumbotron after each play.

I'm looking forward to our game tonight. I went to Huffman many years ago and we played our home games at Lawson Field. This will be my first trip back to that stadium since my playing days. It brings good memories.

I felt like I was in the twilight zone taking my walk today. Something tropical-like is off shore and sending bands of clouds & rain through here making the sky orange. The glow was eery. BTW, for those of you wondering, I've lost a total of 13 lbs. in 2 1/2 weeks.
 Dancing

Great. Wifey won't recognize you. A mere shadow of your previous shelf.

Was the orange looking glow coming from the east? I'm not sure, but I think I know what causes that.

Yeah, it was coming from the east. I've seen it before, but it's been awhile. There's a park near my house with a walking track. I was the only one on it and I was listening to "Echos" by Pink Floyd on my Walkman. The combination of it all made it eery. It was actually kind of neat.

Orange sky and odd-orange sunsets can be from smoke.  That's the skies we get in Central America during the slash-and-burn dry season.

Pmull, if you ever get the chance, come down to Mossy Head, Fl. (between Crestview and Defuniak Springs) and play Blackstone golf course. It's about 2 years old and pristine. I've never seen greens in such great condition. It's very hilly for a Florida course. It reminds me a lot of the Grand Bear in Biloxi, because it is so secluded and has many narrow fairways.

Good luck to you guys' high school teams. Prayers for no injuries.  Pray

Congrats on the weight loss. You really need to upgrade that walkman to an ipod.  Grin

It's actually the latest Walkman that works like an ipod. Coach. "Run Like Hell" is on there too. It just didn't happen to cycle through while I was out there. I did, however, get to listen to "One of These Days", "Learning to Fly", "The Turning Away" and "Comfortably Numb".

2Stater, I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd twice. In 1975 in Denver, they had just released Dark Side of the Moon. They played the entire album. In 1994 at Legion field, when they played Run Like Hell, two huge wolves with red glowing eyes came out of the top of the speaker towers and were running towards audience. I started to run myself.

Awesome! I saw them once, I believe it was in Tuscaloosa around 76 or 77. For some reason my memory is a little fuzzy back then.  Smiley

Funny.  Yesterday I was thinking about a Joe Cocker concert at Coleman Coliseum back about 1971.  He'd fallen off a stage the night before, so the concert was delayed.  He looked real cork-screwed (more than usual) when he performed for us.

I checked out their website. It looks nice. Too short from the middle tees I would need to play the back tees which is only 6600 yds. I like the $25 rate if the temp is above 90 degrees.

There are some large storms in the gulf. We need the ran up here. People throwing out cigarettes are causing fires in the grass on the roads and interstates.

Narrow fairways make up for the lack of distance on some holes.

According to WV cigarettes do not start grass fires along the interstate. I was in Oklahoma a few weeks ago and the temps hit 115 and it was very dry. Along the interstate there had been a small grass fire every few miles. I made a comment similar to yours about how bad they need rain and the fires. We bated what caused the fires and he was certain it was not cigarettes. HTH

It has a decent slope rating so I figured it was narrow fairways, traps, hilly or something causing it to be tricky.

There are burnt patches of grass on I-459 and I-59. There are also woods fires every where. Large woods fire in Idler Alabama.
