I thought so too.   Downing the ball would've been smarter at, say, midfield.  But they were inside their own 20 and the Eagles took over around the 45 after the punt.  I would've preferred to controlled my own fate there rather than giving them one more shot.

Also, if they'd ran the ball 3 times, the plays would likely have ticked that extra 15 seconds off and they would never have had to punt.
