Evenin' boys and girls. Various tasks have kept me busy all day. I assume that everybody has been productive within the CRS universe?

Starship CRS is on schedule and riding smoothly.  I was gone all day too, and returned to find Terrie had retaliated mildly, WV refused to shovel his snow, and no word on Smitty's puppy love.

Sounds like a typical day.  Cheesy

Morning. Winners at 6-3. Badly beats my stinky 4-5 and I had to rally hard to get that. Undecided

If you consider "I will get you back, Chech" as mildly. You don't have a pet rabbit do you?

Back on the road to the gun show this morning.  You boys enjoy church and the NFL games (LOL).  I'll catch up tonight.

It's been a nice "snoozy" morning, but now I think it's time to break out the clubs.

"Mean spirited?  Me?"   Smiley

"I'm the good Chech of the north."

Looooooooooong day at the show.  I've unpacked the truck and relaxing.

I came home to a wonderful fragrance wafting from the kitchen.  LF had made biscuits (real ones, not prefab tube dough), fried some bacon, and made a batch of grits.  It was delicious.  I put some of the pear preserves (that I bought at the gun show) on the biscuits - yum.

Chech, I'm just curious, Is their any profit turned at the gun shows on a regular basis? I've been to several and it looks like most people come to those to mainly browse. Maybe a handful of people that are as knowledgeable as you, looking for specific good deals.

We had brown beans and cornbread. Practicing in case a depression hits. Homemade biscuits and eggs would work, as well. "Don't mention anything about money around them. I can tell by the way they eat, --hard times!"

Most of the guys at tables selling guns are like farmers; they don't tell how much they make.

I sell knives, and usually take in about $800-1000 per show (this show was half that).  That's gross sales, about $300 net on maybe 30-50% markup on my knives.  The tables cost $55 each (I get 2).  Mostly its just an opportunity to trade and get a few knives that you like.

My guess is that the gun guys selling new pistols make the most money.  They have unlimited supply available and lots of new (novice) customers.  The rest of us deal with collectors, who are savvy about prices.

I could make waaaaay more money consulting on weekends, but its not fun to me.  I enjoy buying and selling.  BTW, all of the items I bought at the auction on Friday night sold (framed photos, kitchen knives, porcelain birds, mouse traps, tools, and assorted antique jars).  I paid $8 for it all.  The last of it went to one lady who bought the entire box and leftover odd items this morning for $5.  I'd sold the kitchen knives for $10 yesterday, the photos for $3 each, the birds for $5, jars for $6....  Like I said, just fun.

Wish y'all had seen the redneck wearing an LSU shirt at the show.  Fat guy.  Truth, he had a Mohawk haircut, a dirty LSU shirt and cap, and as he approached my table he started to sneeze, raised his tee shirt over his face and sneezed into it.  Apparently there was a nose discharge, so he peeked into the shirt, then rubbed it against his chest.  Eww, yuck.  That is absolutely the truth.
