So, after my last post saturday morning, I went outside and augured through my phone line, disabling my new DSL internet.

I have traveled to Starbucks to enter this weeks pick 'em games.

 Embarrassed

Late morning, boys. Barners around me are at it early. I had run-ins with two this morning. First, one of them that I usually think is a pretty decent guy (I know, oxymoron) and I get into a discussion about annoying fan bases. He mentions Texas, and I concur, holding up the title game as an example. Then he mouths off "Oh, so do you think y'all won a clean championship?" Stunned, I say, "Uh, yeah." His reply? "So, knocking the other quarterback out of the game is just part of football?" I almost get mad, then I respond "So, you think you guys won a clean championship last year?" He starts to get all huffy about how they didn't do anything. That's when I knew I had him.
Later, a former professor of mine who is a barner comes by and says"I'm looking forward to seeing another team win in Tuscaloosa this weekend. And it ain't Alabama." I just looked at for a minute and said, "You barners are so cute. Just like the little sisters you are. I just want to get you in a headlock and give you a noogie." He starts scoffing and mumbling something about the score at halftime last year, to which I ask if he was enjoying the three losses they have so far. He didn't say much after that.

Geez I hate the barn.
"Make 'em quit", CB!

True.  I just posted a new sticky thread for a contest to predict the score by quarters.  It will take some thinking to get this one done.  Have at it.

Where has defense gone in college football?  Seems to be only 5-10 teams putting a premium on it these days.

BTW, it's exciting to see that we're approaching 1000 pages.

Right on both counts. NIU just scored again. Now it's 49-41.

Toledo scores TD, but misses 2 point conversion. 49-47 NIU with about 11 minutes left. Last team with ball wins this one.

Toledo gets the TD. Going for 2 again & misses again. 54-49 Toledo, still with over 10 minutes left.
