Louisville to the Sugar Bowl? What a travesty! Oklahoma & Texas A &M in the Cotton will be interesting. Some of our SEC teams got rooked. LSU & Clemson in Chick Filet, offense vs defense.

Just waiting for Oregon and KSU to declare their bowl game the real NCG.

Maybe they can rename it the What If We Hadn't Shipped the Bed Bowl

I think Georgia got rooked too. The BCS show tonight were really blowing it up but one guy stop them in their tracks practically. Mark May. He said this is best that could happen going by the rules in place.
NIU vs Fla. ST. is going to be game to watch. lol, RTR!

The Rose Bowl gets five loss and unranked Wisconsin. The Sugar gets #21 Louisville. The Orange gets a MAC team that could not beat Miss State, Ole Miss or Vandy if you give them ten tries.

These bowls will sell their tickets but will the fans actually travel and spend money in these resort towns for a week like expected. The TV viewers will be down and the advertisers will not like that. This is not good for the bowl system. Hopefully this will lead to changes to make sure the best teams get these BCS bowl games.

It does make for some good non BCS bowls though.

I was wondering about the ticket sales issue. Weren't there some schools last year that couldn't sell their allotment and lost money on the deal?

As far as the match-ups, in every game involving an SEC team, the match-up is a higher rated team from the other league against a lower ranked SEC team. The only excpeption is that UGA and Nebraska are listed as #2 in their respective leagues. This is a golden opportunity for all the poor, beleaguered and disrespected leagues to show that they are every bit as good as the SEC. Good luck with that.

Another bad bowl season with bad matchups all around. LSU should dominate Clemson. Florida will destroy Louisville. I do like the A&M & Oklahoma matchup. That should be fun. Not sure about SC and Michigan. SC should beat them easily, but SC always seems to screw up in the bowl games. I hope they get it right this time. But once again the SEC dominates the bowls with 9 entries. Still the toughest conference in football, with another national championship on the way.

Yes, I think it was a Big East team.  Probaby will happen again this year.

Northern Illinois has to sell 17,500 tickets to the Orange Bowl. They average 15,600 at home games.

BCS rules require the teams to buy 35,000 (17,500 each) tickets. The local community is responsible to but the rest. A local business will buy large blocks if necessary to make sure it is a sell out. They will give tickets away if needed to make sure the seats are filled.

Usually they sell bowl sponsorships, and tickets go to employees.  I went to the Cotton Bowl for free for several years when my girlfriend's dad was getting tickets.  The Notre Dame fans were pretty cool the year they were there, but they were stomping one of the SWC teams at the time.
