Quote
Cooper enters the BCS title game with 53 catches for 894 yards, the sixth-highest single-season total for receiving yards in school history. Cooper is just five catches and 30 yards behind the season Julio Jones posted in 2008 that set school freshman records. His nine touchdowns on the year put him just one behind the school record of 10, set by Al Lary in 1950.

And against the Irish on Jan. 7, with 106-plus yards receiving, he would become just the fourth player in school history to post a 1,000-yard receiving season. Julio Jones and David Palmer accomplished that once each, while D.J. Hall did it twice.

We have a very special player in AC. He's as fast, if not faster, than Julio with better hands. He's not as physical as Julio, but he makes up for it in his precision routes and acceleration. We've got 2 more years with this superstar in waiting. With Black being back and having Norwood and Bell (once he recovers) at the disposal of whoever our QB will be next year, the future of our passing game will be very bright. I look for AC to have a big game against ND.

I think Norwood and/or Christion Jones have a big game, since ND will be doubling up on Cooper all night.

I may be wrong, but I think Cooper will be good for at least one over-the-top TD.

I don't think AJ is headed the NFL next year. He still needs some work and there are higher rated non seniors out there. Just my opinion.

Cooper is special. Remember the saying... You can't teach speed. He also has great hands. Not many drops.

He has also saved at least 2 ints for AJ.  I don't think AJ is ready for the NFL.

Yes, and that last one was over the top of Rambo, the UGA guy that was running his mouth about how much more talented they were at every position.  I loved that one.  I also loved when Lacy ran all over Rambo in the second half when he was back peddling try to get out of the way.

I think our deep passing game will do very well this game.  That is the one weak area of their defense.  Once we pound them for a while and get man coverage on the outside they will be in trouble.

Do you realize how good our receiver corps is going to be next year? Cooper, Norwood, Jones, Bell, and White are coming back. Black will be ready to go next year. This is going to be the best receiver corps the Tide has ever had. Experience, talent, time in the system....it's just scary how good we could be next year. AJ should come back. He's not NFL ready. And if the OL can gel and give AJ time to throw, and if AJ can be more comfortable next year, this offense could be unstoppable. These receivers and running backs that are coming back are going to be scary good. Wow.

I can't wait.  As you mentioned, the only question will be the OL.  Apparently we are not in too bad of shape there either because our backup center made the Freshman All SEC team, and I never heard of him until that report came out.  I am going to go take a look at the roster and see what we have coming back on the OL.  I know Cy will be back, and maybe Arie can step up.  So that is a potential 3 out of the 5 spots.  Be right back.

Here are the starters who will be leaving:

Chance Warmack LG (Senior)
Barret Jones C (Senior)
D.J. Fluker RT (Junior)

Here are the starters that will be back:

Anthony Steen RG (Junior)
Cyrus Kouandjio LT (Sophomore)

So we need to replace 3 starters, 2 if Fluker decides to come back for his senior season (not likely- he is projected to possibly go in the 1st round).  Here are some candidates from the 2 deep:

Ryan Kelly C (SEC All Freshman)
Arie Kouandijo G (Sophomore)
Austin Shepherd T (Sophomore)
Chad Lindsay G (Sophomore)
Kellen Williams T (Junior)

None of the current backups are seniors, so that helps.  The center spot will be the biggest unknown, but if this kid is good enough to make the ALL SEC Freshman team then maybe he can get up to speed quickly.

I project next year's OL to look like this:

LG Arie Kouandijo 6-5 310
C Ryan Kelly 6-5 288
RG Anthony Steen 6-3 303
RT Austin Shephard 6-5 312
