ESPN 2013 Football Recruiting Class Rankings

ESPN has Florida with the No. 1 recruiting class while Alabama is at No. 4. We only have 19 recruits so we could finish strong. Recruiting is is full swing with high school football over and some down time before bowl practice begins.

The SEC has 5 teams ranked in the Top 10, 9 schools ranked in the Top 25 and 13 in the Top 40. Only Kentucky is not listed.

I think Rivals is probably the most accurate for what Bama is trying to do recruiting wise. 

Scout seems based on sheer numbers, so TAMU is No. 1 with 34 commits.  (Aren't they in the SEC now?)

ESPN favors those who recruit in their top 150, and their ranking have never made much sense beyond that.

Rivals is the service that best takes into account the quality of recruit, and while numbers are important it isn't just sheer numbers.

I always use Rivals for consistency and try not to cherry-pick which of the many various services has us the highest. I like the format they use.

They can count up to five to last years class if they enroll in January and if they have scholarships available. They can also get commitments who will not sign but are willing to grayshirt and enroll next January. It is difficult to determine how many you can sign.

New coach, new system.  Saban did the same when he first got to Bama, trying to fill the roster with his recruits.  So Sumlin has some number crunching to do, he's got two months to figure it out.

They thought that could happen anyway, kids wanting to play in the SEC.  But, I think playing for Sumlin vs. playing for Mack Brown has something to do with it too.

Hopefully, there will be more Texas carry over to other teams too, especially Bama.

A&M are taking them from Tx and TCU out here in Tx.

A&M joining the SEC, hiring Sumlin as coach, Johnny Football wins heisman, beat No. 1 Alabama, 10-2 record and going to the Cotton Bowl. Things are going good for A&M. Recruiting should be good. Getting out of Texas shadow will help them.
