The Alabama men's basketball team will look to snap a three-game losing streak when it travels to Lubbock, Texas, to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT. It will be the final non-conference road game of the season for the Crimson Tide.

The contest will be televised on ESPN3 and can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network, with Chris Stewart and Bryan Passink on the call.

"Texas Tech plays similar to VCU from a defensive standpoint," Alabama head coach Anthony Grant said. "They are going to press a lot. I think they are forcing 19 turnovers a game. They play very fast offensively, meaning after a missed shot or made basket, they are going to get the ball down the court fast. We have to be able to be able to take care of the basketball and execute offensively. We also have to get back defensively to prevent them from scoring in transition. It's a similar prep to what we just faced."

We need a win bad. We need to stop the three game losing streak and finish the non-conf season strong. TT is 5-2 and has not played anyone. They were blown out by Arizona and lost to McNeese State. We should win this game on the road or not.

Realtime RPI has us rated 45 and TT 284 but has them winning the game 71-69.

Tide looks to bounce back against Texas Tech - Article by RollBamaRoll.com

Quote
Texas Tech enters the game with a seemingly respectable 5-2 record, but the win/loss mark masks what is probably the weakest team in the Big XII conference this season. All seven of the Red Raiders' games have come at home, and four of their five wins have come against teams ranked in the bottom 30 (out of 347) Division I teams in the Pomeroy ratings, with the fifth win coming against 264th ranked Northern Kentucky by just six points. They were annihilated at home by top-ten ranked Arizona, and lost their most recent game at home to lowly McNeese State.
Despite Alabama playing on the road, missing two key players due to injury, and having downright pitiful performances in their last two outings, Vegas has the Tide favored by 10 points as of Tuesday night. Playing a road game against anyone in college basketball, especially a major conference foe, is never an automatic win, but this is a game that Alabama simply has to find a way to win, especially given the fact that Alabama's margin for error this season is exceedingly thin thanks to what is shaping up to be another down year for the SEC and Bama's having lost its only two non-conference games against likely NCAA Tournament opposition.

Bama is winning 21-10 with 12:00 to go in the first half.

I am glad to see we got off to a good start tonight. We have not been able to overcome slow starts in the three game losing streak.

Big 12 announcers-- nice to hear someone squawking about THEIR team for a change!

Nice 16 point lead at the half.

Lacey has 14 and Releford 9 to lead the Tide. Pollard has 5 rebounds and Gueye has 4.

Bama applying full court pressure and then dropping into a zone.

Pollard will be a force to be reckoned with by tourney time. JMHO but it seems CAG has targeted next season as his run on the NCAA. I'm sure he is not seeing the improvement he wanted out of this season,--at least so far.

Bama by 20. I guess the usual suspects have quit on the Tide again-- this time in hoops!
