It was Alabama's third double-figure scoring output in its last four games. Alabama led 13-1 after three innings.
This is a Crimson Tide team that struggled offensively earlier this season, but seems to be hitting its stride. Austen Smith went 3-for-5, falling a triple short of the cycle. Kyle Overstreet went 3-for-3 and Ben Moore and Mikey White had two hits each. Brett Booth drove in four runs.
"They helped us a little bit early, but I thought we had really good offensive pressure in the front part of the game and obviously we were able to extend out the game," Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard said. "I think our guys are at a better place offensively than we were in the front part of the season."
Gaspard mentioned how the Tide (12-9) played four freshmen early in the season - Overstreet at second, White at shortstop, Georgie Salem in center and Ryan Blanchard, who came off the bench Tuesday, in left. He also said that some veterans, including Smith, Booth and Moore, were putting together better at-bats.
