The injury will certainly prevent Henry from playing in Saturday's A-Day game, but Ramsay said Henry likely will be back and ready to compete for playing time by July.

"He got tackled and he said his foot got rolled under a defender," Ramsay, the head coach at Yulee (Fla.) High School, said in a phone interview with AL.com. "It's just one of those things. He was discouraged when I talked to him, but supposedly he was having a breakout day."

Henry, a five-star prospect who set the national high school record for career rushing yards, ran for 79 yards on 17 carries in Saturday's scrimmage before he went down with the injury. In the Crimson Tide's first scrimmage, he had 12 carries for 52 yards.

Oh crap. This is what has me worried:

Quote
Alabama will have just two fully healthy scholarship running backs (T.J. Yeldon and Kenyan Drake) for Saturday's A-Day game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Jalston Fowler and Dee Hart have both worn black, non-contact jerseys throughout the spring as they recover from their respective knee injuries.

We can not afford another injury of any type. I'm a worry-wart so this has me somewhat concerned.

Well I have to say when players as good as ours beat on each other 12 days somebody is going to get hurt. This is why our players are so good when you practice against the best you become the best, but what a price to pay. RTR!

It's cool to have these guys come in early, but sometimes you wish they would get into a strength and conditioning program before contact.

Now they are saying fibula.  Still, can never have too many good running backs!

Makes more sense that it be the fibula since it was first reported as an ankle injury from someone "rolling up" on him.

And, yes, you're right about running back depth.  Every year it seems like we have a surplus of backs, and every year it becomes thin at certain points.

3 more "superbacks" come in summer. We'll be back to logjam by September. RTR

From a different article...

Quote
Alabama certainly won't be short at the running back position this fall, but they'd love to get Henry back on the field. He could be a real difference-maker in this offense. With his 6-foot-3, 238-pound frame, he's a mismatch waiting to happen on the field. He can be a threat carrying the ball and catching it out of the backfield.

This is why Nick Saban loves stocking up on running backs.

"To me, to have really good depth at running back, you need five really good players," Saban said on national signing day. "Three of those guys usually play a lot, so I know in your guys' little fantasy football world you put these guys' names down, but there are circumstances. I think a lot of these guys are going to have a good opportunity to contribute next year."
