Oregon thinks they can get off with a wrist slap from the NCAA. It ain't gonna happen.

Quote
The University of Oregon has acknowledged major NCAA violations in connection with football recruiting and proposed a self-imposed two-year probation with the loss of one scholarship in each of the next three years, according to documents released by the school.

I don't know but I think the NCAA wants so bad to send a message to college sports we are in charge. The only time I see real action by the NCAA, is when they come into the SEC. They are so prejudice. Check Ohio State, and USCw. These guys get off from harsh penalties. JMHO. RTR!

They will be calling Auburn for advice on how to lie & manipulate the truth and how to blame the REC.

NCAA schools should know by now to not turn yourself in or admit to anything. The NCAA is incapable of finding anything during a so-called two year investigation.

Schools that follow the rules and cooperate during investigations, like Alabama, get hammered.

Exactly. Pull a Clinton on them: "It depends on what your definition of 'infraction' is ...."

If you fail to "self report" you really get slammed. Schools that are already under the microscope cannot afford to chance it, while schools that have yet to get nailed for anything can just keep their mouth(s) shut and hope for the best since the NCAA does no real investigating on their own.

Well I admire honesty in any school officials. I do however, think that you should run a clean program, then there is no reason for them to be afraid of anything. My way of doing it would be, that if I ain't sure, I would call the NCAA and ask them. Then they would have to be the right or wrong one. JMHO! RTR!

Bingo!! Auburn has learned that by denying everthing, fighting every allegation, and dummying up does work. Actually, I admire them for fighting the NCAA instead of rolling over like a whimpering dog and relying on the "mercy" of the NCAA. We learned a very harsh lesson over acting like that. The NCAA is basically a bunch of holier-than-thou academics who love to rip sports programs and then lecture them.

I will not go so far as to say I admire Auburn for fighting the NCAA during the Cam Newton investigation. They got away with it but the schools reputation was ruined. People look at Auburn the same way they viewed OJ Simpson after he was not found quilty of murder. Everyone knows they did it but the NCAA is too weak so they got off anyway.

I still fill the best way to stay out of NCAA trouble is to run a clean program.
